Nadia Oweidat is an associate professor at Kansas State University. An intellectual historian by training, she researches and teaches classes on Islam and the Middle East in the History Department and the Security Studies Program at Kansas State. Her first book, Reform and Its Perils in Contemporary Islam: The Case of Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, was published by Oxford University Press in 2024. She is currently working on a second book on authoritarianism and nonviolent creative dissent in the modern Middle East. She has served in a senior advisory capacity to the U.S. Departments of State and Defense.
