Cara Sklar is Director of Early & Elementary Education policy with the Education Policy program at Âé¶¹¹û¶³´«Ã½. She leads a team working to ensure that all children have access to a system of high-quality early learning opportunities from birth through third grade that prepare them to thrive in school and in life.

Prior to joining Âé¶¹¹û¶³´«Ã½, Sklar gained education policy experience at the federal, state, and local levels. She was a federal policy analyst for Zero to Three and an education research analyst for the District of Columbia government. She was the director of research and policy for Briya, a high-performing, two-generation public school where she now serves on the board.

Sklar holds a master’s degree in education policy and management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgetown University.
