Michael Calabrese, director of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Wireless Future program, testified before the U.S. Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Media, emphasizing agenda items that the United States should prioritize for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027. He highlighted items that could potentially impact the U.S.’s world-leading Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite industry and outlined certain challenges the U.S. will need to overcome to successfully participate in the event.

He identified four challenges:

1. Developing clear, unified U.S. positions on priority issues as early as possible ahead of the Conference
2. Appointing a senior official to lead the U.S. preparations and the ultimate delegation far earlier than has been done for past World Radiocommunication Conferences
3. Building coalitions in support of U.S. priority positions
4. Developing and managing priorities, including a focus on more globally-harmonized spectrum allocations for Wi-Fi and LEO satellite services
