Trustees Professor and Director, Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology; Author, How Terrorism Ends

Audrey Kurth Cronin is the founding Director of the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology (CMIST) and Trustees Professor of Security and Technology. Her award-winning book Power to the People: How Open Technological Innovation is Arming Tomorrow鈥檚 Terrorists (Oxford, 2020) shows how accessible technologies are changing conflict. Cronin also wrote How Terrorism Ends: Understanding the Decline and Demise of Terrorist Campaigns (Princeton, 2009), which The New Yorker called a 鈥渓andmark study.鈥 Cronin has advised the U.S. government on counterterrorism policy for decades, serving in both academic and policy roles, and she appeared live on NPR the morning of 9/11.聽聽
