OTI Condemns Misleading Net Neutrality Report
Earlier this week, a was published that outlined 鈥済eneral principles鈥 for net neutrality. The document purports to be the result of a series of roundtable discussions that included dozens of civil society and industry groups. 麻豆果冻传媒's Open Technology Institute (OTI) was an early participant of the roundtable and withdrew its membership.
The following statement can be attributed to Joshua Stager, senior counsel for 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Open Technology Institute:
鈥淥TI participated in this roundtable and we do not support this document. It ignores critical issues and does not reflect true consensus. We are also troubled by the document鈥檚 vague and misleading assertions about who participated in the roundtable. The document does not list any groups or individuals by name, nor does it include any public endorsements of the conclusions. Anyone reading it should do so with a critical eye and intense skepticism.鈥
