build4good: Developing the Next Generation of Public Interest Technology Leaders

The build4good program is an intern-mentorship experience that partners post-secondary students who are majoring in computer science, data science, integrated digital media, UI/UX design, or other technology-related fields to mission-driven organizations with technology-specific project needs. The program aims to inspire future leaders to develop socially minded technology聽 and help mission driven organizations harness the power of technology for social good.聽

Alongside their internship, interns meet weekly and attend a week-long in-person convening and hackathon where they have the opportunities to transfer classroom-learned skills to real-world application, add new technical skills, understand public policy, gain insights into different career pathways, and gain leadership and 21st-century skills.聽

Watch our video and be inspired by the next generation of public interest technologists!

In this video, interns, mentors, and nonprofit partners reflect on what makes build4good unique: the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects with real responsibility, the support of an experienced community of mentors, and a culture that values curiosity, teamwork, and continuous learning.
